John Cooley asked EDA vendors to share the advice they would offer Synopsys (this on the eve of next week's SNUG). One recommendation for the purple company:
"I would buy Magma for their DRC/LVS technology."
There's a switch. Magma has spent years trying to make lemonade out of the lemons they got when they bought Mojave 6 years ago, but it looks as if they've finally got something worth selling. Which is exactly why not only Synopsys but MENTOR should be looking at acquiring Magma. If it's the only real competitor to Calibre, the boys from Oregon should try to get it off the street.
