Ai experienced the price adjustment this morning that reflects the dividend of .875 and appears to be holding up better than others. during the first several minutes, many sales and purchases took place and many buyers got good prices and it appears to me that the buyers are positioning for the next dividend. it is very likely that ai will be able to continue to pay the dividend for some time to come. best to all. dr.ehc

    • How can being down 4% on top of it being ex-dividend considered "holding up well?"

      • .875 is already built into the days price before market opening. this will be paid next month to shareholders. the difference between adjusted opening price and the current -$1.08 is -.205 and i don't think that this is very bad since more than 80% is comprised of the dividend itself. it is not common for the dividend to be completely recovered on an xdate. i have owned this for a long time at a cost of just $16. i could cash 8000 shares in today and pick up $64,000 in capital gains and get to pay approximately 12 to 14k in taxes and not have a 21% yield investment that pays me $28,000 per year into a tax deferred retirement. so from my point of, i don't think a net 20bpon an xdate is a serious loss for me, certainly not 4% as you indicated was your loss. Good luck dr ehc
