We need to see the latest numbers out of this group. If they kept accumulating from previous ownership levels then there is a huge chunk of HGSI in strong hands. It's not trading aggressively to the downside so this shakeout truly is the weak hands. There is big boys accumulating. I just want to know why Loomis accumulated such a huge position and whether or not they've continued to accumulate. They were at 13.9%, but they could be much higher at the moment..we just don't know yet. They could force GSK into a bidding war if they decided to try and take HGSI private.
Blackrock owns 6.2M shares

the huge drop - nor do i have any idea what to expect in the next few days
can you give me any direction for finding out information
the way it is trading today, yes strong hands are buying up everything. over million shares traded 2hours. Bet we get anther pop to the $10 range and something happens unless there is a leak or news for a huge gap up. momentum is on the upside right now. No looking back anymore.
Exactly. We were being held around $7 like glue. That was odd. There had to be major accumulation by strong hands taking place. The volume today isn't here...no one is selling. Stronger hands are in this now.
If GSK gets Loomis on their side then all of the sudden you don't have that many shareholders to win over. The 13.9% Loomis accumulated was at lower levels but the stock stayed at lower levels for a good while. If they swept out the excess shares then this is going to rise like crazy each time shorts go to cover. Also, the Loomis shares can guarantee that GSK doesn't have to offer more than say $20-25/share to take this. They won't pay more than they have to. Loomis is either a very smart fund or they're working with GSK.
I was thinking that too because in the BMS press release in their merger with Inhibitex that stated that "In addition, shareholders with beneficial ownership of approximately 17% of Inhibitex’s common stock have entered into agreements with Bristol-Myers Squibb to support the transaction and to tender their shares in the tender offer.".
If Loomis keeps buying then it could be a cover. Loomis has incredible amounts of funding. They could buy HGSI alone in the blink of an eye if they so decided. This Loomis connection is what brought me to HGSI. I'm really intrigued by it. If they have continued to accumulate then I'm going to be excited because it will mean the outstanding shares have really tightened and we've probably got a player already in bed with GSK.
