    Hope Springs Eternal

Boeing and Lockheed are both on a tear. I hope Pratt gets a chunk of the engine contracts on any future airframes those 2 companies sell. That will help offset all the bleeding cash that Sikorsky is losing. Best thing that could happen is if Boeing bought Sik. At this point, I think it would go at a bargain especially with the Turk and Canadia liabilities they would have to assume.

    • So the $550million contract that Sik took home today, according to Motley Fool, is going to be a money loser? I'm confused, Airborne. It should be a long term earner, if the pattern UTX sets with other aviation contracts holds, I'd think. What don't I know?

      • ctb- remember this, and I do not know if this is the case in this instance, allot of the big contracts are for production follow-on contracts and they were planned by the government. They are multi-year contracts that have follow-on options to buy more. If the US government is getting screwed on delivery times, there are penalties that are assessed. Sikorsky, over the past several years under its contemporay leadership has not been known for its on-time deliveries. It would not be the 1st time they lost money on large contracts. i.e. Turkey, Canada, et. al.
