The stock market and UTX are going up because the FED has given the banks all the money. The banks will use the money to play the stock market and move the stock prices higher. The problem will come when the FED takes the money away. Think that is why we have seen the market start down the last two days. If the FED keeps taking money out of the system think the market and UTX will keep going down. The banks will have to sell their stocks to give the money back to the FED. We have something going on I have never seen before so it is hard to say how it will end. Could be some dark days ahead. I will keep hanging out in the stable value fund and hope for some wild swings so I can jump in the market for a day.
W2B, ....(The stock market and UTX are going up because the FED has given the banks all the money)....You can't just make stuff up, the FED has not given money to banks. So, you've held gold and silver since the 80's, taking a huge loss in the past year and now you're going to jump in the market for a day ? Maybe you should try Puerto Rican bonds, exempt from federal, state and local taxes and they pay a high yield. I think you may have studied voodoo economics. The market action has been driven by a possible deliberate slowdown of the Chinese economy, currency issues in Argentina and Turkey and many other macro and micro economics events. It's OK that you are in the "stable value fund ", you don't need our approval. I've got 24 pages of form 8949 filled for 2013 out and you call me a "buy and hold" investor ? Clearly, your gyros are out of calibration......Kid
If you don't understand the company's fundamental businesses, take a look at their website, maybe look at Invsetor Relations. IF you don't understand why the price goes up & down, take a look at one of the various yahoo graph combinations, where you look at UTX and other stocks and indexes. Try DJIA, S&P500, GE & 3M for a look. The market DOES go up and it does go down. IF you can't understand any of this, I'd advise you to put your money in the bank.
