    Top 1%

Can anyone tell me if we should keep letting the top 1% have all the money? Is this a good thing?

    • Just what they worked for. And, after taxes, I want to keep what I worked for. I do not want federal and state government to take it from me and give it away.

      • The chasm between the richest Americans and poorest Americans widens exponentially every decade. There is NO justification for that, NONE at all. It is a product of capitalism & deregulation.
At the current pace and considering that the poor FAR outnumber the rich, it is the perfect recipe for disaster which historically is proven to lead to revolution or civil war - maybe not in our lifetime but if corrections aren't made, it WILL occur.
Cutting taxes on the wealthiest while cutting benefits to the poorest just accelerates and exacerbates the problem.

      • They are going to take your money and give it to the poor because that is the system. You do not have the lawyers that the top 1% have so you will pay a higher rate than the top 1%. Every year the top 1% accumulate more and more money. This can't go on forever because eventually they will have all the money. Think you people have to be brain dead not to see what is going on. Keep your money in the market and once you figure it out it will be too late. They will take all your money and you will not have to worry about taxes. The last down turn they took a lot of the money and those people never got to retire. Where did that money go. The top 1% got it.

      • "Just what they worked for"..........airborne,....There are many out there who did not work for what they have, e.g........the Kennedys, Warren Buffets' kids,Teresa Heinz Kerry some of the Waltons and many others. Inherited wealth should not be redistributed, but, yes, the taxes due should be paid. There are many in the world in places like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Mexico etc. who would love to be part of the 99% in the US who are not in the top 1%....Kid
