was at home depot and saw Rheem water heaters.
i believe Rheem air conditioners are still a subsidiary of UTX,
but can someone tell me who makes Rheem water heaters
which is now the predominant water heater sold by Home Depot.
the Haitian floor guy said General Electric owned it, but
i figured that was wrong... the I-Net indicates Rheem waterheaters are
manufactured by an Australian company.
IF you know the facts, please share.
(am assuming Rheem Air Conditioners are still a subsidiary
of UTX). ThankYe, H.
What would concern me is buying any product having moving parts from either Home Depot or Lowes. Companies,,...even major companies like GE,...make products specifically for those big box stores to the specs and cost requirements of the the stores. They are not the same products you'll find from the same manufacturers at independentlly owned stores and wholesalers. To meet cost targets corners have to be cut.
flyer,.......Having two production lines for the same product like a refrigerator would seem to be a logistical nightmare. Whirlpool makes many Kenmore appliances, parts are interchangeable. Like Buick, Oldsmobile and Chevy, just minor cosmetics and different nameplate. The upscale is in the appointments, mechanically, there is little difference. BTW, GE is looking to sell it's appliance business. I don't think GE knows what it wants to be when it grows up. I still don't like paying more taxes than GE does.......Kid
meteor..(.Rheem Manufacturing Company is an American privately held manufacturer that produces residential and commercial water heaters and boilers, as well as heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment).....................Rheem has no connection to UTC.......Kid
