    MPEL BB Comparison

Some may find it useful/entertaining to check out the MPEL bb when MPEL was trading in the $3ish range. Some of the comments at that time: "Management sucks and company won't go anywhere until they get rid of Lawrence Ho, City of Dreams will never make it compared to Venetian/Wynn, sell the non core business that will contribute nothing, xyz casino was a mistake, stock will never get above $4+, sell now, tada tada." Different user names but rhetoric the same as the present EGT board.
FACT is Chung took a company on its deathbed, stopped the bleeding, turned the company around, and now is growing the company. Pailin contribution will increase, Poipet will be a blockbuster - with low overhead so most rev going to bottom line, chip business (contrary to the opinion of some) WILL be a substantial RECURRENT contributor, look for meaningful contribution from Bokar (and possibly other hotels in the chain ??).
btw I think Kampot is on the back burner, so far back that we may never see it (otherwise Clarence would have made some mention on the call). He is looking for larger projects with higher margins.
Will attempt to save cno and Jerkwatcher the trouble of replying as we all know what they will say: "Management sucks (class word, Jerkwatcher) and company will go no where until management changes, company has failed miserably, going no where until 2030 and will continue to be 50M market cap...until it gets bought out at 39 cents, and I pontificate all this with certainty since I have forgotten more than any of you pea brains will ever know re EGT, and proof of that is I have traded this stock 20 times successfully while you guys wait for it to go to $7-$8, EGT is no MPEL, tada, tada, tada.
And, oh yes, and IR sucks also."
Will just add I do enjoy reading cno's posts. Intelligent guy. I just look at the glass half full and am basing
present decisions on (what I think is) the future. Jerkwatcher is 100% useless and has NEVER posted one meaningful contribution.

    • Yes, Chung took EGT off life support, but EGT is still in Intensive Care; critical but stable. Until we can show organic revenue growth that makes it all the way to the bottom line AND develop new properties at the same time....we will stay under 3 bucks even with another hype session....hype only works when the revenue potential is unknown...we now have a pretty good idea what these casinos can generate...and we can get an even BETTER idea if management ever separates EGM WUD from Table WUD of our Dreamland properties in eh 10Q/10K.

Kampot was the only project listed as "under development" in the April 2013 presentation. 14 Tables and 25 EGMs....another Boutique Casino leven smaller than Pailin. "We presently intend to begin full construction efforts on Dreamworld Casino (Kampot) in the second half of 2013. " Expected revenue impact? Marginal.

Takeo is now pretty much just a footnote in the 10K: "We also own a parcel of land with total area of approximately seven acres (30,000 square meters) in the Takeo Province of Cambodia near the Vietnam border and were granted in-principle approval to build and open a casino-hotel there by the Cambodian government. At the present time, we do not expect to commit significant capital to the project on this land in order to divert our available capital to the development of Dreamworld Club (Poipet) and other ongoing projects, which we believe will offer greater short and medium-term return potential. Our future development plans for this land will be dependent on our available capital and local market conditions at that time"

Next known significant EGT event is not until early/mid-August when EGT reports Q2...Until then....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

      • K,
ICU two floors up from the morgue !

Besides recently transferred to Progressive Care although still on a monitor. Not expecting anywhere close to $7 (or buy out at 39 cents) in near future, but NG tube is out, hopefully will be able to pull IV soon. Lab work mid August will yield more info.

We all agree re bottom line and new projects. But considering Pailin, Poipet, Bokor, expanded chip (now 3 non Melco casinos) business............. Chung not exactly sitting around in the doctors' lounge drinking coffe, watching TV, and playing with his stethoscope. btw all the above now have visiting hours.

        regards

    • corti... excellent post!!! I agree with you 100% in that the company is on a road to good fortune and success. I do not believe that the pps will go thru the roof overnight but a good company takes time to build and Clarence is doing, in my opinion; a very good job. All his moves are well thought out and deliberate. The fact he gets paid in stock is all the more reason he wants the company to succeed. I have faith that success will come sooner than we think but later than some predict. I am of the opinion that the glass is half full rather than half empty and that negative posts tend to make people shy away. I think that all posts should be discussed but that negativity begats negativity and so positive posts are good for those on the fence trying to decide. Although no one should invest on the information of a M/B it in my opinion does help if the followers have a positive outlook... the negative outlooks should stay w/ the shorts,, they have their motives for doing so. I just hope that all those here can wade thru the difference and see the company for the little gold mine it is setting itself up to be. GLTA
