If Linda waited until 80 to short, why was she posting in the Oct. 1999 time frame that LSI was going to be cut in half from 22?
If Linda had gone short at 22 like she recommended, margin calls would have closed out her postion entirely before the stock eventually rose 5 months later to 90.
She was right eventually, but because of how early her call was, she would have largely ended up penniless with the bulls. You can't see your short rise by a factor of 4 without being squeezed. The margin requirements for a short don't allow you to hold through this type of move.
