If the company is going off the map,

-why did Armen and associates buy over 4 million worth of stock this year (150,000 shares for Armen himself at 13),:

Because, like yourself, he thought he was getting a good deal.

--why do they have over 100 job openings on their help-wanted board,:

That's easy, all of the good talent is leaving!

-why do Fidelity Investments and Franklin Investments appear to be holding most of their shares( Fidelity apparently own 4.3% of the shares)?:

Since when, beginning of the year? F&F dumped with every one else.

-why can I still get all of their drugs at my local pharmacy (most continue to sell well)?:

There's no time like the present to sell

-why have one one of their over 40 trials (4 in phase 3) been cancelled due to lack of future or lack of funds?:

They have. You haven't heard of them yet because the new CEO is in damage control (he doesn't want to lose his shirt on those $13 shares.)

-why is their talk of a takeover at a much higher price if the company has no value?:

To coax suckers from retail to buy as many of the institutions shares possible. All at above double penny digit prices.

-why have several large important players apparently been accumulating the stock between $2 and 2.60?:

    Who?

-why are the most thoughful and knowledgeable (those who spend time explicating Elan's accounting practices, study all their financial documents, perform depth analysis, etc.) believe that the chances a high that Elan will be substantially higher in the future:

Because they're shareholders who don't want to be left holding the bag!

Company will makes important strides in the future and needs to hire more quality people.

-why do Fidelity Investments and Franklin Investments appear to be holding most of their shares( Fidelity apparently own 4.3% of the shares)?:

They own plenty of shares. They haven't dumped most of their shares.

-why can I still get all of their drugs at my local pharmacy (most continue to sell well)?:

Elan is a going concern that will continue to grow in the future after they deal with their problems.

-why have one one of their over 40 trials (4 in phase 3) been cancelled due to lack of future or lack of funds?:

Not one of the 40 trials has been cancelled this year except the one relating to Alzheimer's disease.

-why is their talk of a takeover at a much higher price if the company has no value?:

Elan has assets that give it a value higher than 2 per share.

why are the most thoughful and knowledgeable (those who spend time explicating Elan's accounting practices, study all their financial documents, perform depth analysis, etc.) believe that the chances a high that Elan will be substantially higher in the future:

They see potential value in Elan's 40 trials, 50 partnership, biotech portfolio, drug delivery revenues, contract revenues, current drugs and their reformulations, and in Elan's real estate.
