The poison pill infers that NO ONE else could reasonably buy ELN but BIIB.
You are not too bright, so allow for me to explain the two scenarios related to this difficult to believe suggestion that BIIB is going to buy ELN.
1. BIIB buys ELN, waives the poison pill. 2. BIIB buys ELN at price reflective of the fact that in allowing themselves to be purchased by suitor, ELN has forfeited all rights to Tysabri to...cough...cough...cough... BIIB!
The poison pill is only relevant for a hostile takeover.
But, BIIB is apparently not doing it. Read the Reuters on BIIB tonight, on near-term acquisitions. BIIB is buying -- something. But, products apparently, and not a company.
BIIB buyout of ELN or vice versa would be a good fit, IMO. If they toss BIIB management. ELN has a good core. BIIB actually has products, and some pipeline -- and not debt and cash flow to support research/purchases. Combined, a pretty strong company for the next decade. If ELN was in charge!
Oh, why is BIIB talking so much about acquisitions? Is ELN not available for some reason?
