Danaher (DHR:$60.61,00$1.42,002.40%) has been rumored as a suitor for a number of companies over the past few weeks. The Street may be speculating that the company is looking to take advantage of the recession and is on the hunt for a deal. Elan (ELN) spiked up 59c, or 10.33% to $6.50, following speculation that Danish firm Lundbeck is in talks to acquire Elan for $12 a share. In March the Irish Times reported that Elan's strategic review is expected to be completed in April and that Lundbeck was an interested party. Elan has previously been the subject of takeover speculation. In the health care sector, IMS Health (RX:$12.7700,$0.3700,2.98%) shares rose 40c, or 3.23%, to $12.80, on speculation that Wolters Kluwer is in talks to acquire the company.
