If Avis really values IDSY's contributution to Zip, they would be eager to renew exclusivity.
Avis has had plenty of time to evaluate IDSY. Apparently, IDSY isn't worth the commitment. Avis to IDSY - go F yourself. Maybe Avis doesn't want to get too deeply involved with a company that dbtunr, this board's loudest cheerleader, once suggested should be investigated by the SEC.
Obviously, Avis isn't worried about a competitor hooking up with IDSY. This is a real slap in the face to IDSY.
Doesn't say much for IDSY's product. I'm sure we'll hear more BS from IDSY about how they are talking to other car rental companies. It's all BS, IMO. After this Avis fiasco, IDSY has no credibility whatsoever.
Jagid from 8/7/13:"Under this MOU, we are negotiating an amendment to our 2011 master agreement with Avis Budget and, tofacilitate those negotiations, have agreed with Avis Budget to extend our exclusivity period until September 30, 2013."
Exclusivity date has passed. What happens now? IDSY's failure to communicate should be a major concern for shareholders.
