      DA Davidson said Entropic said Entropic (ENTR) shares should lift on news that Intel (INTC) will enter the streaming home video market. The firm said Intel currently partners with Entropic and was a former investor in the company.

        Hate to rain on your parade, but I will, as usual, say that though this is good news as it again shows that major players want in the connected living room, it doesn't have any effect on ENTR's bottom line. Intel's box is no different than the multitude of other offerings available....Google TV, Xbox services, Apple TV etc. There is no more gain for ENTR with Intel than with any of those other offerings. If someone chooses an Intel internet box over Google TV its a net 0 customer gain. Its actually worse for ENTR if the customer chooses an Intel internet box over traditional cable with Comcast etc.

        Couldn't you argue that the Intel box will take potential Comcast (cable carriers) box customers? Boxes that ENTR actually provides chips for.
