    Fun over for now

Think we've had a good run and made nice $$$ while the rest of the market tanked. Seeing so many other bargains, thinking it's time to take profits here. ASCA is still good, but too many other bargains in the market. Sell at least 1/2 position and get in on some better short term trades.

Time to use some of the ASCA profits for better short term trades.

Northwest Indiana casinos rang up a total $111.4 millionin March, up nearly 1 percent from a year earlier, the Indiana Gaming Commission reported Wednesday.

Increased revenue at Horseshoe and Blue Chip casinos was offset by declines for Ameristar and the Majestic Star casinos.

Blue Chip, in Michigan City, saw revenue climb for the second straight month since the riverboat debuted its adjoining $130 million hotel and spa in late January.

The Michigan City casino took in $18.5 million for the month, up 4.1 percent from March 2008.

Blue Chip's February revenue of $16.4 million was up 8 percent from a year earlier.

Hammond's Horseshoe Casino continued to outpace Northwest Indiana competitors, accounting for 44 percent of the combined five riverboats' total revenue for the month.

Horseshoe took in $49.3 million in March, compared to $40.5 million a year earlier.

The Hammond casino in August launched its $500 million expanded riverboat and entertainment venue.

The Majestic Star casinos, paired at Buffington Harbor in Gary, took in a combined $19 million, an 11 percent drop from March 2008.

Revenue for Ameristar, formerly Resorts, in East Chicago, fell to $24.5 million in March, from $30.7 million a year earlier.

Traffic to the Lake Michigan docked riverboats climbed 8 percent in March to 1,284,969, compared to March 2008.

    • Great short-term call on Isle...getting in yesterday would have been a nice return for a day trade. Could have truned every $500 into $600 quickly. Gotta love that.
LOL - Booneville is the middle of nowhere. Maybe some congress folks would go from Jeff City and maybe trucker drivers passing through would stop there, but college students generally don't have the $$$ to gamble much. Not many will travel from STL or KC.

No recollection of Pete's. Just remember hearing stories about that being the state's juvenile correction center.

Spreadsheet is pretty good. I see is paying a lot less per patron that Harrah's. Not surprised, always do better at Harrah's. For some reason the tables there are very kind to me. ASCA wins are pretty rare, but still a lot of people like that better.

    • ISLE's Boonville has been a big disappointment to me. It is great location for a no-tell hotel, half way between StL & KCMO. Jeff City and Columbia are near by.

You are not old enough, but Pete's Cafe, Boonville, Mo had 100s+ ad signs on old HWY 40. Pete's is now gone, and I never got eat there.

One other negative for ISLE is their off shore liabilities. Not good out come me think

State websites are big keeping track of monthly gaming revenue for the casinos, like MO:
