    • This from wrestlingobserver. It says WWF was
ready to announce the Via/CBS deal until this happened.
Now, I don't know how USA can claim that they don't
have to match all the goodies in the Via/CBS deal if
they in fact due relate to WWF programming. I could
understand if some of it included XFL programming. Now it
could be that WWF/Viacom make a cash settlement to USA
to clear up these issues, and I am hoping it does
not drag it out too long. But regardless at then it
should be good for WWFE. Hey does anybody remember a
short while ago where execs said basically they won't
miss a beat if they lost the WWF?? Yeah right, what
liars, they are sweating it out big time, and this shows

*The USA Network has filed suit against both WWF,
Viacom and CBS in order to maintain the rights to the
WWF's cable TV package. The issue of them agreeing to
match the Viacom offer was a prelude to the lawsuit,
which puts the rights for Raw, Heat, Live Wire and
Superstars in question. USA Network informed the WWF today
they were, as their contract gave them the opportunity
to do, willing to match the terms of the CBS offer.
The CBS offer included many items that USA believes
don't involve pro wrestling on cable TV and it believes
it doesn't have to match those terms, only the terms
directly pertaining to the four shows. Officially, the CBS
offer that the WWF was about to announce they were
accepting before this lawsuit was filed, would have put Raw
on TNN on Mondays, Heat on MTV on Sundays and
Superstars and Live Wire also on TNN. This court case also
holds up ECW, which would be under contract to TNN,
unless there is a cancellation by TNN or a claim of a
breach by ECW of the contract.

    • Not a major move from close, but not down either. Gotta' start somewhere.
