Yeah, there was a lot of good info in the article; hybrid mREITS may be the cure for agency instruments which QE3 isn't kind to. Having said that, I am a Floridian and I cannot refinance my home with it's conventional mortgage because of what I am sure will be a low ball appraisal that won't meet LTV of 80%. I think a lot of this has to do with age discrimination (64) and even though the beacon is over 800, I think the "crisis" some in the mREIT field are worrying over is as big a deal as some would think. I sure hope you're right about cxs because since i bought it yesterday i have lost 85.00 .Its been down for two days and i guess its because i wanted more interest than i was from Southern Co ,WE'll see what happening tomorrow
Of course we won't know about the dividend "trend" until the next divvy is announced (around 12/17/12. In the meantime I'm in strong buy mode around $10.40. I really don't expect cxs to go much lower. I'm waiting, and like the cash they have on hand,---- to take advantage of opportunities?
