Gee, if someone or some company is "accumulating" why is trading volume at near-record lows? Look at a chart before you post!
If you knew anything about SGC you'd know the company does buy some of its own stock occasionally. An outside acquirer wouldn't make market purchases of SGC stock which is very thinly traded. I've seen the stock move nearly 10% on trades of just a few thousand shares.
Market purchases would increase the stock price but do virtually nothing to help them take over the company.
This is a family business with several younger family members involved.
Also, the company really hasn't done well for years and the prospects aren't great. Easy to overlook that their sales have fallen in recent years even after they've done a few acquistions. I wouldn't touch the stock at current levels.
I asssume this stock is just playing catch up. For the early part of the big market up move since March, SGC did not do much, and now I think it has been catching up with the overall market. I am glad it finally happened as until recently I kept asking myself how come just about everything else was running up, and this one was not.
