No much new re:ISRG. It's going very well but they provided nothing new regarding pricing. They did say that their deal with ISRG pays them more like a royalty (higher margins) whereas their deal with LifeCell for the plastic surgery market pays them more like a distribution agreement.
The highlights for Novadaq were that they hope to sign their 3rd major partnership by year end. The first two were ISRG(Robotic surgery) and LifeCell (Plastic Surgery). The new one will be for wound care which could be a huge market for them. They haven't always delivered these deals on time so wound care may not happen by year end but they have made VERY good deals. Their CEO sounds a bit halting and tentative in his delivery but the deal he got the best deal by far of any partner I've seen and check out all of ISRG's partners.
They also have an already FDA approved SPY capable endoscope which they plant to sell themselves. Commercialization of that should begin in 2012.
They have dramatically improved their financial performance as they off load sales and marketing costs to their partners and their economies of scale begin to kick in. The expect margins to eventually settle in the 50% to 60% range. Not too shabby.
Oh one last thing. They said that they were undertaking a significant trial in colorectal. Not sure if this is with ISRG but I wouldn't be surprised but whether it is or not the data should be usable to gain approval and to help market ISRG's FireFly too.
Didn't get a chance to listen to the presentation but did quickly scan the slide show - anything jump out at you?
Also, I did finally buy some off the pink sheets but you're right - it's a weird trading stock. For the day, the pink sheet stock was down slightly yet the Toronto listing was up slightly - what gives? Is it the currency flux for the day?
All charges will be summarily dismissed. Truth is an absolute defense!! LOL!!!
FDA is one reason I stay miles away from anything which revolves around it. There is ALWAYS time to get into an up and coming product, drug, device or anything biomed, after it is approved by the FDA.
Remember, FDA is the government, and the Government is as crooked as the day is long.
BTW NDQ is doing a presentation later today at 2:40 Eastern. They are sure to talk about ISRG. Haven't bothered to dig up the link yet.
I'll post anything noteworthy.
