ISRG Managements Morgan Stanley Healthcare Conference Call
This was the best presentation I've heard from ISRG since I started following them in 2002! Aleks Cukic the VP for Strategy gave great insight into the inner thoughts of ISRG and where they are going for the next 10 years. If you listen and understand what he is saying, the growth trajectory of ISRG is not even at the midpoint. He stated emphatically, " I don't hear anybody standing up and saying, "We need to do more open surgery." This is a journey that is just beginning. About the "Single Payer" dilemma (Obamacare) he referred to Swedens enthusiastic adoption because they pay the entire cost--individual salaries of medical staff, disability coverage, surgery costs, recuperation/hospital .....soup to nuts and it cost them 69% tax rates....They see Da Vinci surgery as the best total solution. As to Japan, it is " in the first chapters of a multichapter book. "Now Japan, they use the term "Crushed it", I don't know what that means, but we're doing very well in Japan. We are doing VERY WELL in Japan." They are over 125 units as of Q2 and that's the second largest country...bigger than Germany and France combined.
Read the transcript! Hard to read at times, but the insights into the ISRG managements vision for the future are awesome.
