    • My prostate was removed at the Weill Medical center in 2006. I NEVER HAD any negative side effects and I'm still cancer free to this day. Obviously the machine is only as good as the Dr operating it. When I was diagnosed I sought out the most experienced surgeon at that point in time.

My ability to have sex took 4 months to return and believe it or not it seems like my orgasm's are stronger than they where when I was in my 20's.

I am 52 and still going strong!!

    • "These hit-pieces are all too common. Not just for Intuitive but for far too many issues today. Let the ignorant and the uninformed (that would be anyone who gets their info from most of todays media) beware. I have participated in over 250 da Vinci cases on the S model. I have not seen a robot related complication.
My hospital just upgraded to the Si model and it is quite the leap forward and will contribute to even more safety and increased efficiency. As for this article…..I could take it apart line by line but won’t waste my time. It is, as others have pointed out, SO misleading and SO devoid of context that it is, in a word, WORTHLESS. I was around for the beginnings of knee arthroscopy. 2 hours in the darkness with soaking wet feet and a patients knee looking like a basketball at the end. I was around for the beginnings of lap cholecystectomy and more recently, lap hysterectomy. Some scary stuff..then and now. And they think there are complications with da Vinci? Ha! Lets just say that articles like this are written by the ignorant (who are more interested in giving their lazy bosses something to post) for the ignorant, so that the author can get a paycheck. Real truth or context are never the aim."........ a comment from a Barrons article about the article in question.

"My Hospital just upgraded to the Si model" that is why you need to defend this technology as the truth comes out. You must live in a fly over state that is behind the curve on this. In California where the machine is made, and in New York we have already moved past this ridiculous salesman driven over application of robotic surgery that harms patients. My hospital had one in 2005, longer operating times, 30min just to "port" the machine. Next you will notice surgeons pushed to do inappropriate surgeries like benign hysterectomies, then the Intuitive salesmen will try to get you to buy another machine... Do you still think you are cutting edge moving into the age of evidence based affordable care? This machine is the last belch of the 20th century. Good riddence.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Believe this is the same reporter and editor responsible for previous articles in the same vein. Probably in league with Herbie. Dredging up info from years ago. Should be losing credibility by now.
