I have been using the Exparel for a couple months instead of On-Q pumps (deliver marcaine by a thin catheter to the site of pain) in my cosmetic surgery patients. Similar costs and similar efficacy, but no bulky pump that patients do not like so well. Over the last 12 years I have used about 3500 On-Qs. I have switched totally to Exparel.
