    LMT has negative cash flow

Using stored up cash to pay dividend. Used up about half its cash supply to pay dividend for 2012. At this rate the cash for dividend will be gone by year end. If I'm reading the cash flow statement wrong please correct. thanks.

    • Is that why they have postponed the next dividend payment by a month, effectively reducing the dividend rate? The next date of div is June end which is 4 (instead of 3) months after the last one.

      • That may hold it up a few months longer. I would look for insider selling and no cash left in the piggy bank as a couple indicators for timing a short position. Once the dividend gets lowered, the cats outta the bag so to speak, so it has to be done slowly to allow options and such to be liquidated before it plummets and starts a downward trend. Ma and Pop will have lost quite a bit but the 'in the know' will have sold and the proceeds put into a tax free off shore account by the time all this transpires. The high and mighty will come out and say how they couldn't have predicted it and that it was due to unforeseen circumstances resulting from the sequester blah blah blah, the usual lip service from stuffed shirts and empty suits.
