Not because I do not believe in the world's greatest company. I just have made a lot of money and my position was substantial and growing through Drips. My last payment will not be reinvested. I am going to the sideline because of two reasons which may be way off base and for LMT longs and all market longs I hope I am wrong.
First we received a pleasant surprise with the no taper, but after the euphoria what is Bernanke truly saying about the state of the economy. Second, I have little faith in all of elected officials in Washington D.C. I want to stay on the side while these buffoons play their games. If I miss a run up who cares. LMT owes me nothing. I owe them everything as do my kids and Grandchildren.
I will be back in this stock somewhere in the near future because quite simply LMT is the stock to own plain and simple.Best of luck to all!
rightstuff157, I think you are doing exactly the right thing. I have been waiting for a dip- correction because the market is ripe for a big correction. LMT is a great company and make the best warplanes etc. I really kick myself for not buying LMT last year. I'll buy LMT at the next correction.
Not so fast. The sideline will get you nowhere, yes, we may have the deflation in short run, LMT has the most reliable future cash flows like NOC and BA. So, I am not selling and plan to add at $120's. Gold, weapon, oil, water and food will make us prosper in the years to come. The global investing dynamics have been changed. I just hope U$ will not disappear in 5 years.
Your points are valid and I am confident you will be rewarded by investing in NOC, BA and adding LMT shares. The sidelines may get me know where but I don't need to go anywhere. I am set. Really really set. Note although I cashed out I still have the world's greatest stock LMT as a STRONG BUY.
Somewhere in the not to distant future if the opportunity arises I will put some money back in LMT just because I like their quarterly payments and their continued growth prospects.
Good Luck to LMT longs
