That's a good point and now that there is a new CEO, this could be his first move to get the stock moving up from here.
I just made a quick calculation and at this PPs, a 20 cent dividend will result in a 3.75% yield and when it is normalized relative to MDT and STJ, the PPs should move to around $7.50 on that move alone and as the earnings start coming in, that will be next catalyst to boost the PPs to the $9-10 range.
It's great that BSX will have a dividend. I think 20 cents is too little, it should be closer to 40 cents, since the stock price is going to be taking off pretty soon anyways, and the yield needs to be higher also.
20 cents is a good start and will attract institutions that buy for stable yields.
If you are short I suggest you re-examine your thesis at this PPs.
There is under 50 million shares short which is pretty low when you consider there are more than 1.5 billion shares outstanding and any kind of buying will cause a short squeeze as the market maker seems to be tapped out.
