    Where's the bottom...?

EXC has traded below its 200 MA for most of the time since 7/2008. It is still showing weakness and a down trend. Next support appears to be the 3/2009 lows when "the world was ending".

WTF...they reaffirmed 2010 guidance, and the multiples aren't terrible. The dividend is decent, and it is now oversold (again). One would think there would be some buyers for the divvy alone.

Sheeeez...time to give up and cash it in?

    • why aren't the big guys trying to turn this stock around? it's like holding quick sand! I'm thinking of selling this stock just because something should be done by the executive staff to hold the stock from reaching record low's, but it doen't matter to them, they still get their bonus.

    • Ex-div yesterday so dividend buying is over (and the dividend evaporated in share price). One can never be certain about the future. You know the drill, "past performance is not necessarily ...".

Do you really think the economic turnaround has begun? Don't think the major indices are going lower? By now you should know that anything that looks like a lock and is touted as a "smart move" in the press, will be exploited short-term by powerful forces that will make sure the sheep that follow that advice get taken to the cleaners. Lately it's the dividend "safe haven". Where do you think all that Wall St. bonus money comes from?

The market goes up, the market goes down. Right now EXC is somewhat in sync with the market and you probably can't expect much better than that without some positive (or negative) news.

    • Under the old regulation rules nuclear plant costs were built into the customer rate base.(a gauranteed investment) That is no longer true. The electric customer will no longer be required to pay for generation. For the fist time in the countries history the stock holder will be required to pay these cost. It has been said the stock holder doesn't want to pay for that investment. Exelon is aggressivly pursuing this investment. Maybe when the plants are built it'll get better, just a common persons thought. Stay for the long hall.
