How do you know RIMM can handle competition? They have never had any. Apple had 60% of the PC market once. Wang was going to be the next IBM. NT was gonna crush CSCO. Didn't happen. RIMM can't fight MOT, NOK, HP, MSFT and PALM all at the same time.
goog and aapl are not out there with one product and they also have more than just enterprise revenue..rimm is a one product wonder in the us with 60-70% of rev. from hardware ...business is worried about the bottom line period and with competing products at a more attractive price without legal concerns where do you think they go? goog works everyday to better themselves and aapl has a status across the us unlike rimm which is mainly limited to the east coast...aapl has a very nice selection of products that compete in price with their competition and their ipod are like the walkman in the early 80's it won't last but nothing does when competition really gets hot.
Gay999 - you go and tell the institutions that!! they hold over 80% of the stock. i don't really care about rimm's fundamental, what i care about is the price of the stock and the demand for it right now not 1,2, or 100 years from now!! rimm will see $75 before what ever!! why ntp is holding the stock back: very simple - without ntp rimm would have over 6mils users now!! the law suit have put many major contracts on hold - giving the competitions a chance to take market shares. they've to settle quickly - and good thing they did!! Ntp is happy, and rimm is a little angry, because those patents will be anounce invalid eventually!!
