To the entire board - Re: WhoKnow...

I have reported this user to Yahoo Abuse after asking her many times politely to stop harassing me, and the rest of the board.

Many of you have expressed the same concerns, and are at a loss as to how to make her stop.

Please on behalf of the board do the following.

    1) Click on anyone of her messages (especially her rages, and rants).

    2) Click on "Report Abuse" under her yahoo ID (whoknow001).

    3) I have written a complaint on behalf of the board - please feel free to copy and paste it, as it covers all areas of the abuse she has caused on this board. The comapliant you can cut and paste is at the bottom of this message.

    4) You will receive an automated message asking you to use standard filters. Please respond to the message asking them to investigate it further, as there is NO WAY that filters are going to work when it comes to whoknow001.

    Yahoo Abuse...

    <>

    Complaint:

    Hi,

Can you please do something about this poster, she is harassing the Research in Motion message board.

She posts constantly, endlessly, bashing the stock (Research in Motion) and harassing other users of the board. She even creates her own threads answering her own posts???

The people of the board have asked her nicely and some have warned her sternly to stop this rapid posting and harassment.

She is on the board daily bashing the stock (Research in Motion) endlessly by the minute, and harassing other users of the board so much so that she's driven those that contribute valuable information to the board - off the board myself included.

I didnt know which of the criteria I should use from your violation drop down list as she is without exaggeration guilty of most of them. Harassment, Impersonation, Obscenity, Spam (rapid posting bashing the stock by the minute). Four out of seven violations from your drop down list.

She uses different yahoo ID's to accomplish this. She attacks anyone that will even politely ask her to stop this madness of rapid posting.again, she uses up to 5 posts to abuse the person whos pleading with her to just stop! Even the people that ask her politely!

Due to her presence on the board, it has become a war-zone of harassment, instead of a coherent, insightful exchange of opinions which is supposed to be the premise of the board.

If there is anything you can do from the abuse end, please do so and stop this poster from the daily...hourly...by the minute harassment of other users.

    Thank you.

...I don't know if this will do anything, but the more users that get tired of seeing valuable ppl such as cmrcarson disappear 'cause of this entity called whoknow001, and the more who report her to Yahoo Abuse, the more will get done. They will search her by IP protocol, and warn her from there. Whether or not they can ban her, I can't say.

Hello, Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Message Boards.

I have received your report of potential violations within Yahoo! Message Boards.

I have completed my evaluation, and have taken appropriate action on this account as per the Yahoo! Terms of Service.

For further details about the Yahoo! TOS, you can visit:

Please know that I cannot disclose any action taken on another user's account. I am unable to make exceptions to this rule.

Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Message Boards.

      Regards, Yahoo! Customer Care 40833716

      <end snip>

...being in IT myself, I can see that that is step one for whoknow - they've red-flagged her account by IP protocol #.

Step two comes when there is more reporting on the same user account. At that point, step two will be to pet her on a block IP protocol #, effectivley blocking her out of all Yahoo services. Same premise as they deal with SPAM. At that point, you can't create another account, as your IP protocol from your ISP will be blocked out.

I can see today after reading over yesterdays posts, that she still hasn't learned her lesson, and hasn't stopped the harassment as any person of any sense or reason would. What a shame.

Please note, that it takes more than one person to accomplish getting an account suspended, so, if you agree with my original post at the top of this thread, and have had enough of the disrutption she causes to this board, then simply follow the instructions in my origial post at the top of this thread.

Feel free to use my complaint as a generic cut and paste to Yahoo abuse if you agree to it in full. Total process is less than 5 minutes. Again, don't assume others will do it for you.

    • ...escalating post. Please keep it on the front page to inform ALL users new and old.

    • ...thx for the update fetalfreddy. I have been in touch with Yahoo all day over this issue.

The problem that I have with using the ignore feature, is that she is not only harassing me, but the entire board. And most importantly the new user to the board. They will think that what she says has some credibility...and force them to sell based on her vehement hatred of RIMM. That, and her constant rants and rages scare off ppl that are valuable contributors such as cmrcarson and other valuable number crunchers.

    • I think it's very important to keep these threads in focus for the foreeable future if they are to have an effect on this board, and any new memebers that might come along.

For those that feel the board has been disrupted continuoulsy by the entity known as whoknow001, please take the advice in my original post and report her to Yahoo Abuse. For those that don't, then dont.

Regardless, its bad enough that we're up against the games and tricks of the big boys on wall street, and automated trading programs, but to have bashers to contend with as well is a little too much.

All members, old and new to the board should read this link provided by Srao1 - the bible according to a basher.

A must read about Stock Bashers...

      http://www.novakcapital.com/bashers.htm

...please keep this thread going for the sake of new users. Once it has moved off the front page, just reply to it and bring it back if it is to have any affect.

    • I recommend filing a lawsuit against the user name and Yahoo. You are not truly suing Yahoo, but you must name them as a party-defendant. Once you invoke the jurisdiction of the Court, you initiate simple discovery, and issue a subpoena to Yahoo for the ISP information on the screen-name. You are required to file the lawsuit in federal court in your home district. For instance, if you live in N California, you would file in the United States District Court in San Francisco. This is true even though the person whose identity and address you seek are somewhere else in the United States. As part of your complaint, you request monetary damages. If the person fails to respond, you win by default. You will for certain get the information from Yahoo pursuant to subpoena. Once you have that, you are then entitled to subpoena the person's name/address from the ISP provider. If you are awarded monetary damages (harassment, etc), you can attach the person's bank accounts, wages, home, brokerage account, or whatever. Several courts have ruled that Yahoo, AOL and others cannot protect the anonymity of its subscribers in lawsuits. In one such case, the plaintiff obtained a subpoena duces tecum from the California Superior Court directing Yahoo to disclose its subscriber data on a screen-name "scovey2". Yahoo complied. The information that it disclosed revealed that "scovey2" obtained his Internet access through AOL, that "scovey2" used IP address 152.163.194.186 which is registered to AOL, and that "scovey2" provided to Yahoo the alternate email address of "scovey@aol.com". Long story short, "scovey" paid through the nose. There are ways of dealing with dirt who spew their venom of the net, and they are much more accessible to the law than a hoodlum on the streets.

    • ...they (the bashers) are at work already with "Cramer is wrong about everything..." Keep this thread in focus for the next few days.

Someone asked if I'm acting as a board moderator, no, just sick of the wasted time and energy of reading bogus posts and watching innocent newbies being taken advantage of - their money being taken by manipulation.

And ppl with genuine valid posts being pushed into the archives within minutes (sometimes seconds) of posting by bashers such as whoknow with her rapid posting technique.

And the number crunchers...such as cmrcarson on here who's knowledge is extremely valuable to all - he (and others) seem to have disappeared. Can you blame them?

All board members please keep this thread in focus for the next few days for it to be effective.

    • ...Srao1 added an excellent post explaining the inner workings of the "stock bashers" mind. All should have a read. Kudos to you Strao for finding that...

      http://www.novakcapital.com/bashers.htm

Copy and paste it into word tho unless you're beyond 20/20 (vision).

And please try and keep this post/thread going for the next few days, even if you have to add "extending post" or whatever just to keep it in focus, so it doesn't lose its intended purpose.

Again, I have nothing to gain from this, no hardship towards whoknow001, I personally think she needs medical attention - and I don't mean that to slag her.

I'm just trying to clean up the board as I've had enough of seeing REAL and VALUABLE contributors like cmrcarson disappear from the board for the likes of this nonsense.

And I'm sure other users are tired of it too...

Please keep thread going and in focus.
