RIM is an enterprise+consumer company, Apple is a consumer one only.
While maybe RIM is losing the consumer side to Apple, they have a large market share in the enterprise arena, no company will sacrifice their security communication requirements to products from Apple or Google.
Just be careful not to wake-up one day and sees a buyout offer from Apple or Google to enable them to enter the enterprise arena......
APPLe is already in the Enterprise area. I work in IT for a very conservative fortune 50 company. The Blackberry % of smartphones in my company is now only about 40% of phones versus almost 100% a few years ago. No on eis going to Blackberry. Our entire mobile engineering group is working full time on supporting IPHONE, ANdroid and IPAD.
Not criticizing but just telling you what the direction is.
1) What is the brand of your email server software? 2) Where is the location of that email server (locally or on the Internet)? 3) Are the emails encrypted (Yes or NO)? 4) Which encryption protocols is being used to encrypt the communication and to store the emails?
If you fail to answer those questions, then sorry you don't know anything about IT security which is the main requirement nowadays for all enterprises.........
