    Good idea - removable battery

My friend always complaint that you can't open the iPhone to change battery. His Garmin also die with a a dead battery locked inside the unit after two years of use. Removable battery makes sense as 1) you can carry spare, 2) you can replace them without having to send it back to the factory, two, three years after the battery is dead, 3) future proof for any advance in battery technology.

    • After 6 year and about 200,000,000+ iphones out there, no complaints. Rimtards just don't get it!

    • By the time the battery goes bad three years later you have a new phone anyways. Its a moot point.

Is this really how far you longs are reaching??

Hey, a removable battery is proof that Rimm has hit the cutting edge of phone tech.

Just like Full Flash after adobe killed its support for flash.

A keyboard for the Play Dud that costs as much or more than the Play Dud.

Not to mention "True" multitasking for those that leave multiple apps on always; to drain the battery.

Hey, now I see why a removable battery, and a pocket full of repalcements, is so cutting edge for Rimm.

    • EXCELLENT! I am VERY pleased to hear about the removable battery. Just that one feature alone makes it a buy for a lot of users (including me) for various reasons.

I won't be watching videos on my smartphone, so it should be able to last through the day w/ plenty of juice left, but I want to have TWO batteries so that one is always fully charged. Just makes it easier to alternate between the two or have a backup.

Heins is doing a much better job the past week or so. He has said a number of things that make a lot of sense. RIM having 6 phones is perfect: keyboard and fullscreen version of high/med/low market. That's all that is needed. Keep it simple.

The fact that he won't comment on IBM tells me that particular rumour is true. But I maintain that RIM will not be sold anytime soon. There is no need to sell. When the stock is back at $20, and they get offers for $30, maybe then. ;)
