BB10 to be on sale late Feburary

    According to Bloomberg article

"Research In Motion Ltd. (RIMM) plans to showcase the first two of its BlackBerry 10 smartphones on Jan. 30 and then start selling the devices in February, moving forward with a critical step in its comeback bid.

'We want to do it as quickly as possible,” Chief Operating Officer Kristian Tear said in an interview following RIM’s announcement of the Jan. 30 date earlier in the day. Though the first phones won’t go on sale simultaneously worldwide, RIM is aiming for a release on multiple continents within 30 days of the unveiling, Tear said. ' "

    • Why "late" February, the negative spin?

Apple announced and shipped 2 weeks after. Microsoft announced and shipped 2 weeks after.

This negative spin factory is splitting hair.

First, Misek claims he had knowledge the launch will be late March because RIM did not say anything. Truth was BB10 is in the early phase of carriers testing.

Then no body wants to buy RIM as a total distraction.

Then the spin went to Faucett with his DOA comment. His comment might have been better placed with iPhone5 iLost, iSwitchedConnector, iLackInnovation and Microsoft 's crackled keyboard cover and already need 2 security patches two weeks after launch.

Now, RIMM sets the date. They say, nothing new. Then negatively spin it as it won’t ship much later.

97 million short shares and countless naked short shares are feeling the big pinch.

      I told you so.

      • Yes, Apple and Microsoft announced & shipped two weeks later.

RIMM announced, and, 13 months later, it announced another announcement that will be held in two and a half months. As to when they'll actually *ship*, that's a different question, and it probably doesn't matter anyway because they weren't able to sell any of the last product they shipped.
