The guy is just a genius. The way he boils down every little piece of market intelligence, including what might happen when people no longer find Apple products cool (already happening when my grandmother has an iPhone and lines up for it). And the fact that he can predict the future with such certainty in terms of what will happen when there is a major security breach involving an apple or android phone. He's just a genius.
Writer suggest a wait and see approach to investing in rim. Its always a good idea to invest in stocks only when wall street tells you to do so, and not a second before. I'm sure rim will be an awesome buy at 75, but today it is a stupid horrible buy at 9.
I'm long with calls into the BB10 launch, but the "wait & see" approach does have merit. Let's face it, RIM is up against the wall and the acceptance of a fourth (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, and now BB10) mobile OS is absolutely in question. The author took a lot of flak for the article, but I think he's just calling it as he sees it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I'm "investing" (more like gambling) in the hype that BB10 could actually save the company - and not because I believe it will. For long term investors, waiting to see if BB10 gains traction does make sense. Personally, I think the best time to short RIM will be a day after the BB10 launch when hope springs eternal.
