Game over! The lawsuit settlement guarantees Nok a "ONE-time payment and CONTINUAL PAYMENTS". Although they couldn't disclose how much of payments but it seems like this settlement only allowed Rimm to finally launch BB10 to remain viable but ends up financially strapped to Nokia royalty fees. This is really bad for RIMM; it has to build another version of smart phones that doesn't conflict with this royalty fees otherwise Nokia continues to suck them dry.
See you at $3/sh after BB10 (BBZzzzzz) release.
The amount isn't much relatively speaking.
Anyone with any sort of knowledge on the subject can tell you don't know #$%$ about what your talking about. Sorry short, your too late to the party and missed your chance on this stock. Not going anywhere but up from this point.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Blackberry phones use more data; BB10 which runs on 8 opened screens simultaneously will consume huge amount of data. To remain competitative, RIMM is forced to cut charges on data plan--- where is the profit? On top of this expensive data usage, they have to pay NOkia wifi Royalty fees. Hence, even when they can sell BB10, they will still end up negative.
I downgrade my price target of $4/sh to $2/sh after BB10 release.
