The huge volume is of course a smoke and mirror show. The majority of rims 530 million shares are locked up and won't be sold for a long time. bears use the 200-250 million or so shares that they have created as almost like a separate force to move the share price around. The large bears will try to drive share price down to scare out the small investor, as thy have tried many times and failed. The big bears are in trouble with rim, and the small investors will win large in the end, as rim is going to thrive. Stay long forever.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
You need to include Canada, there were 55 million traded on the TSE, that's way over 50%. At the end of the day they said the hedge funds bought the puts in all strikes for expiry this Friday and sold the stock to be covered together. We will be up shortly.
What people make themselves believe amazes me. It's a cute story but nowhere near the truth. Maybe if it was a thinly traded penny stock with a couple dozen investors trading it...
Just learn for the next time, I learned a long time ago the hard way.
Sentiment: Strong Sell
ok pal your right now go play in the sand box....The SEC is some how in on the profit through there pension fund, They somehow believe if RIM goes away,,,WHICH IT WILL NOT....There pension fund will increase in value...Morbid Corrupt losers....The is Market makers selling back and forth to each other.............There was no reason for 220 million shares to exchange hands today...The phone will begin to be shipped tomorrow to carriers around the world
There is no such thing as "ghost selling". Market Makers only make the market that is there. As soon as the options jockeys knew that the US release would not be until March, they could buy with impunity on Feb 15 Puts, which forces the MM to balance this imbalance in his book. It's not a big deal, just be patient and if you do not have too big a position already, and you believe in the company, just buy the shares and hold 'em.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The way the stock crashed by almost two dollars in less than 20 minutes you bet it was computerized ghost selling. Happened yesterday and the day before and last earnings day too
