Sales numbers have been released and they blow out estimates!

You just have to dig a bit. Sales first week are 300k. Possibly up to 450k

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Hate to burst your bubble but your 100-150K number is for the torch worldwide if I'm reading this correctly, not just in the UK. UK may well have been 30% or more of that number. So use that or whatever you figure times a multiple of 3 for UK first days sales. Call it 150K in UK this week. Maybe more. Plus whatever Canada has done. We're probably at 300-350K at best if your research is correct. Which is fine. More countries coming online. Real sales won't take off until the USA gets it and enterprise IT leadership approves it. I'm also hopeful for a cheap hardware version, maybe 3G for emerging markets later this year... Would be great to see it happen.

      300K IN 3 DAYS V LOW...............

      • First - per ceo pores release -

The device launched last Thursday in the U.K., where Heins said "we have seen close to three times our best performance ever for the first week of sales for a BlackBerry smartphone."

Per wiki the best first week sales that I could find was the BB touch at 100k-150k per wiki -

Initial sales of the BlackBerry Torch were slow to moderate, with AT&T Wireless Operations president expressing some disappointment in the sales stating that he was "surprised there hasn't been a faster adoption" of the smart phone by the public.[20] Estimates put sales at somewhere between 100,000 to 150,000 devices sold during the first week of release.[21] However, sales reportedly improved in the months following the release and RIM shipped a record amount of smart phones in the final quarter of 2010.[22] The BlackBerry Torch placed 6th place on Wirefly's annual top ten selling smart phones list for 2010, selling more than Motorola's Droid 2 and Samsung's Galaxy S Fascinate, but behind devices like the Evo 4G and Droid Incredible.[23]

So that means 300k to 450k min. And that is JUST THE UK!
