Here is why the company will not release numbers...
Simply put. They can't.
They need developers to believe in the platform to gain apps like NFLX, SKYPE and the miriad of other apps that people use on other platforms. Hell, RIM can't even get the apps they had on BB7 to come over to BB10 yet. The developers are in a wait and see mode. If RIM announces 400K sales, they will continue to wait and see. Then people will get pizzed that the apps they want aren't there. Then it will be Playbook part 2.
They must spin that the launch is a huge roaring success without giving numbers.
I'm going to explain this once againe for the slow-minded:
Withholding launch sales numbers isn't new in this industry, as Motley Fool pointed out in yesterday's article "Blackberry Pulls an Amazon". In fact Microsoft and Google and Amazon have also kept the lid on their numbers in recent product launches. As for Skype...
"Skype ‘closely collaborating with BlackBerry’ to make sure ported Android app runs well on BB10... The bad news for BlackBerry (BBRY) fans: The BlackBerry 10 Skype app is an Android port and not a native app. The good news: Skype has told CrackBerry that it is “closely collaborating with BlackBerry” to make sure that the ported app runs smoothly on the new platform. Among other things, Skype says it plans to ”open up some of the integration points available to native apps in the OS so that they can also be used by the Skype application” and thus “allow Skype users to see notifications, to start the app from the Hub, and to see their Skype contacts in the native phone book."
I will explain this one more time. BB is no Microsoft, for sure not an Amazon and hell for sure not a Google. BB is fighting for its life and there is one reason they are not showing any solid numbers. THE NUMBERS ARE GARBAGE.
They have little money left, need to spend on advertising, can't spend on huge supply because they are in fact no Apple. So they must spin numbers. They just can't afford to give real numbers here. If they did that would be the end of the company.
At least this way they can do what Nokia just did massively restrict supply and say sales are booming. Nokia is in far better shape then RIMM and has way more production capacity yet they are having supply problems like BB. That info is just coming out due to China Mobile speaking about delivered numbers.
So one last time, we will not see numbers and when we finally do this stock drop hard. Until then just hope that investors will stick around for sales are good, sales are good, sales are good I promise. Ohh and by the way they have spun this before and are spinning it again.
THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE NUMBERS BUT THEN CAN SAY THEY KNOW NUMBERS ARE 50% OF CANADA'S BLACKBERRY'S BEST PREVIOUS SMARTPHONE SALES?
Lucy, you have some splaining to do.... We don't have sales numbers but we know sales numbers to say how they relate to previous launches. Mind boggling.
Luckily for me I look at most of the posts on Yahoo Message boards as fools that like to gab. If you really think that you can drive the price up or down by the #$%$ you write then you are even more of a fool than most. Blah blah blah ... come back in 3 months then in 6 months. In the mean time, I suggest you find some friends and a life as you are a very sad and lonely person. Gotta run, going to a NHL game ..PoOf !!!!
