I am seeing some scary things in mobile. It is so intertwined in our lives now and has become a such a commodity kind of item that we are seeing the beginnings of ideas based around Free Hardware and Free Software (android). Revenues will be created through content and the carriers controlling the fee distribution.
And here we have BBRY going heavy into hardware and scaling back service fees. They are in a total opposite position to the market and where it is headed. I am sure smarter people than me recognize thsi.
BBRY will probably be bankrupt in 18-24 months I would guess. Be aware of that.
Anyone that did not foresee that the scam of charging people to have their text and email messages travel encryped through RIM's archaic servers was coming to and end missed a lot of profit. Email messaging has been traveling outside of RIm's servers for a decade without issue.
BBRY had no choice but to dump the carrier fees. Carriers weren't going to hide them in the bill anymore and consumers sure as hell wouldn't pay them.
