After the release of the new Z10 smartphone by Research In Motion Ltd(NASDAQ:BBRY), the company has been stating the amount of sales of this device has been quite strong in the United Kingdom as well as Canada. As the actual number of sales has not been specified by the company it has led to speculations that the smartphone was sold out because the amount of it that had been manufactured was very less. Though there have been reports from analysts as well as executives, this has left the company in a very volatile position regarding its stock price.

President and CEO of BlackBerry, Thorsten Heins has said that yesterday in Canada it was the best first day launch of a new smartphone by the company.
According to the estimates of James Faucett of Pacific Crest and Mike Walkley of Canaccord Genuity, the total number of Z10 smartphones that were sold during the current quarter is 300,000 across the world.
As there are a number of conflicting views, the only information that can be trusted is BlackBerry’s own. But, it has not declared the sale numbers.
Heins had also said that the expectations from BlackBerry were really high this time and the company has exceeded those expectations. He mentioned that they were taken aback at the amount of positive response they received and have currently increased their capacity for production.
