I'm at Zurich airport right now - just flew in from Lugano.
This really is Blackberry country - maybe 40% of business people tapping away on their keyboard BBs.
I've just come from a client where everyone HAS to have a BB. I was able to ask about 15 execs there if they were aware of Q10 and Z10 and not one of them was!!! I asked when they would be a due a new phone and the stock answer was "when this one breaks!"
All of them would love a new Q10 or Z10 tomorrow if their IT department would dole them out so I HOPE that someone in BB marketing has a strong programme going with IT leaders around the world.
Anyway - the other point that occurs to me is that with SO many execs flying through the airports I do (Heathrow last week with BBs everywhere) I cannot understand why BBRY is not buying u more airport advertising and even better, having a SWAT campaign with demo booths at all key airports.
I think that would achieve more than 10 Superbowl ads!
If anyone has insider links - please pass this on!
I work at BlackBerry in the Software Dept in Waterloo and hang around this board to see what general sentiment (albeit very misconstrued) there is in the public about our devices. I have forwarded this idea to the marketing department here, can't really say too much beyond that, but the idea is a sound one!
