1) National Security Agency has licensed 26 patents on Elliptic Curve Cryptography or ECC. Those patents are the intellectual properties of Certicom, a company owned by BBRY. The United States, the UK, Canada and other NATO nations have all adopted some form of elliptic curve cryptography for future systems to protect classified information throughout and between their governments.
2) The DoD has recently awarded BBRY the ATO certification or Authority To Operate on Department of Defense (DoD) networks. BlackBerry is the first Mobile Device Management (MDM) provider to obtain an ATO. NATO has also adopted the BB10 system.
3) QNX software is used for guidance system of anti-missiles and drones.
When the US banking system was on a melt down, the US govt partially nationalized the banks. The same thing happened with the auto industry. Now we are talking about not just the economic health of the country but it's security against outside threats. The DoD at present is relying on three critical softwares that are owned by BBRY for the security of the US. It would not hesitate to do everything so as not to compromise that security. God Bless America.
If you really think our government is safe using blubberries you will find out that they were hacked a long time ago.No wireless communication is safe. They spend more money on them just to waste the USA cash.Save your foolish security statements for the longs that bought bogberry wayyy further up and are hoping for a miracle. The Chinese have supercomputers and hackers that read the transmissions faster than they are sent.
Network transmission is beyond the controls of any communication company, including BBRY. Those network disruptions are called denial of service. A hacker or terrorist could cut down a transmission cable or shoot down a satellite antenna or create a fake link that careless users click on. But you have not heard of any BBRY hacker able to capture a packet of data communication and decoded the contents of it. India and China don't have that capability. India, a country with nuclear bomb technology had in fact requested BBRY several times to allow it to decode messages allegedly sent by suspected terrorists. Google it
I will not directly reply to you knowing that you'll make pennies if you get replies to your post. All those three reasons are not speculations. Google it to find out the truth. Are you a terrorist who wants to destroy the BBRY to purchase the company at a price your comrades could afford? You make it sound like the DoD and NSA are run by clowns who don't know anything about security matters. I am an American who values my freedom and knows how to defend those freedoms at all cost. If there is a better technology out there the DoD and NSA will not hesitate to use them.
Can anyone name a scenario where a gov't has purchased a contractor? Really rare if any. I don't think the gov't is in the practice of buying businesses. They buy things from businesses to supply products and services to their various branches. The do very rarely 'socialize' services for example health insurance.
The Hughes Aircraft operation was directly CONTROLLED by CIA, and when Hughes died the place got wrapped up tight. You wanted one...I gave you one. If I gave you another, I'd have to shoot you.
