FRANKFURT, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Dell Computer Corp
(Nasdaq:DELL - news) said on Wednesday that the rise of the
Internet in Europe was helping it gain market share in the
region.
``We are extremely optimistic and expect to grow (in
Europe) at a strong multiple to the market,'' John
Legere, president of Dell Europe, told Reuters in an
interview....(Cont'd)

Dell is looking to grow by improving its core hardware
business with new products and better management
capabilities.
Expanding on its early lead in software customization, Dell
will preload, on request, software supporting new
messaging devices like Research in Motion Inc.'s
Blackberry
product.
The Blackberry device is a pager with a
small screen and keyboard that automatically routes
e-mail from Microsoft Corp.'s Exchange. The benefit over
similar devices is that a user doesn't need to maintain
or distribute a second e-mail address.
Dell
this fall will begin the first phase of a real-time
chat service between customers and technicians,
according to Carl Everett, senior vice president of the
Personal Systems Group. The benefit is that customers
won't have to wait on hold on the
telephone but can
instead get questions answered almost
immediately....(Cont'd)

Would seem device is ideal for outdoor activity
oriented people such as hunters, trappers, hikers, etc.
Perfect for emergency notification, should be
waterproofed and shockproofed and given locating signal. THE
ADVENTURER SERIES seems appropriate and could be sold
through any or all of the major outfitters catalogs.
My hunting friends think its a great idea. Would
appreciate your
opinion and hope RIMM is also reading
this post.
Editor in Chief highy impressed with 850 and 950
models. Devotes almost a full page to RIM and products.
Article very positive and suggests wireless data access
will be more convenient to many than the cell phone.
Well worth a read . Try WWW.SMALLOFFICE.COM for
contact.
Nice... a 243 MHz search and rescue beacon built in.......
maybe a mini GPS?
probably not feasible RIGHT NOW, but soon.
Can anyone tell if the options expiration is moving the stock at all, in addition to the upgrade? I think RIMM will go out very close to 30 today.
an announcement about RIM developing some
outsourcing deals or manufacturing partnerships for its
pagers. There is NO WAY this company can crank out enough
product to meet the demand, and this production
constraint also caps their possible EPS for the next year or
so. Unlike with software companies, there is a
practical limit on what sort of revenue they can
generate.
Now, if RIM co-brands with DELL, and DELL takes on
some manufacturing committments too, the analysts will
be free to set target prices as high as they
want.
