This high prices cannot sustain...real demand should soon decrease. All speculation is taking copper higher and eveyone wants to have hand in copper and other metals. Will be fun to see bubble busting. Isnt it we all love bubbles..Dotcom..real estate..oil..Gold.. now copper ..silver..In the end nasty hangover..
The world's spopulation is growin. More countries are entering the industrial and technolgical boom. Copper is the main building block, I see growing need for all industial metals, this demand will continue growing till they find suitable alternates, which perhaps is atleast 10 to 15 years away, then perhaps synthetic materials will be used, at present there are no alternates to copper for heat transfer and electrical properties. This ride has just begun.
Locally, 5000 lbs of copper was stolen overnight from a construction site! When copper gets this high, you will begin seeing a lot of thefts of copper again!!! The report on the theft valued the copper at $4/lb!!
