    Maple Grove: New Record?

The old one day record, according to KKD, was $70,920 in Toronto (Canadian $, but who cares about little details):

    http://www.prnewswire.com/cgi-bin/micro_stories.pl?ACCT=154789&TICK=KKD&STORY=/w
    ww/story/12-12-2001/0001632904&EDATE=Dec+12,+2001

According to this article, Maple Grove sold 12,600 dozen in its first 12 hours:

    http://startribune.com/stories/535/2250474.html

    Assuming $6 per dozen, that's 12,600 * $6 = $75,600 in a half-day. The full day sales will probably be around $100,000, if I extrapolate correctly.

Now, of course, given that the same article said that capacity is 210 dozen per hour and the consumption has been around 1050 dozen per hour, maybe somebody is exaggerating a little bit. Maybe they trucked in the extra doughnuts from Milwaukee or Chicago. Maybe they have a commissary in Minneapolis.

KKD will undoubtably have a press release out this evening if it is a record.

and make him the cell block girlfriend. Now, THAT would be good entertainment.>>

...yes, sarge, only you could come up with this old (very old) attempt at an insult that you are so fond of repeating these days...problem is you're just no good at it...based on your autobiography "attempts" on this board, you're no good at that, either....when you REALLY start getting serious about that Ford product you're going to get when KKD reaches $16 to $22 in June (right?), please give us details about the interior and exterior colors, features, etc., so that all can marvel

    • >...fine...done?<

I ain't. I'm sending the boys a book on how to make tattoo needles out of fishbones.

    • ...fine...done?

    • Well.... It's entertainment. I'd still prefer the boys at Leavenworth paint tits on his back and make him the cell block girlfriend. Now, THAT would be good entertainment.

    • "<<What??? What did you try to say??>>
....obviously it wasn't what monty "translated" it to be, now was it?"
Here you go, deflecting direct questions, yet again.

"...if you don't like my posts, put me on "ignore"... you DO know how to do that, don't you?"
I never said I did not like your posts. It is obvious you are trying to be serious in what you barf. For me, the stupidity that you show in your posts is good entertainment!

...you just can't do it, can you diversify? you can't post without making it into an unsubstantiated, innuendo-filled, assumpation-based fairy tale

....all this because you had ASSUMED in your
4/10 post that the Maple Grove store would only make $200,000 it's opening week...now you're scrambling like a drowning rat, trying to save your reputation, so that you can have excuses lined up for being so far off when the actual Maple Grove store figures come in for the first week

        ---

Not quite. Here's what I assumed in my previous post (Mobile is a mistake, it should read Lafayette; also, it should read 13 weeks of sales, not 15, though I calculated the $1.6 million revenue figure correctly):

        3) 9 weeks of sales at Clearwater store + 2 weeks of sales at both Maple Grove and Mobile store (15 weeks of sales - assume $200,000 for opening week and $100,000 per week thereafter)

        ----

The $200,000 refers to an average first week sales of the 3 stores that opened in the quarter (KKD said that the FY2002 average opening week sales were $189,000). So, if Clearwater and Lafayette did $150,000 in first week (I haven't seen any press reports about the Lafayette opening) and Maple Grove does $300,000, that averages out to $200,000 for the opening week.

        $150,000 + $150,000 + $300,000 = $600,000

        $600,000 / 3 stores = $200,000 per store

        Total Revenue = 3 stores * $200,000 AVERAGE opening week sales + 10 weeks of sales * $100,000 AVERAGE week sales = $1.6 million

Note: I am assuming that you are familiar with the mathematical concept of "average". Have I assumed correctly?

      • Let me translate strata post:

"Since the article about KKD opening in Minnesota makes seemingly illogical statements (i.e., the store sold more donuts than its capacity), then logic is a short bashers of KKD. Therefore, I (Strata) will give up on logic."

    • Sounds like KKD is Cheating by shipping in
      dounuts made from another location.

They say that the donut machine's capicity is 210 dozen per hour.
They say that they sold 12,600 dozen in the first 12 hours.

12,600 dozen would take 60 HOURS TO MAKE
assuming the donut machine worked around the
clock with Abolutley NO down time. That's 2-1/2 days.

I doubt that they sold 2 or 3-day old donuts.

They MUST HAVE shipped them in.

I think it's misleading to talk about "Store
Records" if the stock was shipped in from
      other locations.

    • >KKD will undoubtably have a press release out this evening if it is a record.<

KKD will probably have a press release out this evening no matter what. They do almost every day. That's their MO. They pump everything full of hot air, including their dinky little overpriced doughnuts.
