On Aug 18th I placed an online order with BKS. As of today (11 days later), only the billing info has been received by the UPS and no delivery as of yet. As a shareholder and a customer, this is Unacceptable service. Any order I ever placed with AMZN never took longer than 7 days (including weekends).
BKS need to fix it's online order processing after the sale.
OK, I don't know about your particular situation, but every time I've ordered from them, it's been to my house in a max of 2 days. Normally it's the same or next day. To be up front, I do live in Manhattan and they deliver here faster than anywhere else.
I also have 2 outstanding electronics orders from Amazon. And I do mean amazon, not one of their partners, and it only shipped today... which wouldn't be too bad except I ordered it last Fri. I took part in their "Super Saver" shipping, which might be code for really really slow.
My point is, I understand your situation as I'm there right now (with Amazon), but I think that happens with any online retailer. My own opinion is that B&N does a better job than most.
And I'll give your reply an F. My order number is BN80934### processed on Aug 18, 2006. If you're a BN.com insider, you should be able to verify this as valid rather easily. But alas, that still doesn't get my order to me any faster. 11 days (and counting) for in-stock items is unnacceptable service. Oh, and I tried calling BN customer service, that was a waste of my time. I was simply told the order has been received and processed.
