About an hour ago, as I walked into "Best Buy" looking to do some office shopping I have noticed a peculiar stack of full color tablet/e-readers with web browsing capabilities called "Pandigital" with the store price tag of $169 and an even bigger stack of color "Pandigital" e-readers (with many of the same features) at $119. I am safe to assume that all is being prepared in anticipation of Black Friday. Both looked very similar to Kindle Fire, but lacked the design and capacity of the Nook, of course.
BOTH $169 and $119 tablets had a Barnes and Noble logo on it and it stated that over 2mln books are available for purchase through a built-in BN store!!! Meaning that all the books from those devices will be sold through Barnes and Noble!
How about that for a door buster deal?!!!
And a prediction for the shorts.
You will be completely wiped out within, oh, 10 trading days just like that guy that kept saying that I was wrong at 11.04 a while back. At 5 times the daily volume pushing upwards, upgrades flowing and Dec 1 in just 4.5 trading days... This is not the blender to stick your fingers in :) They just might get "shortened" lol.
P.S. I did walk into BN store to get a cup of coffee and observe a full parking lot, 2 new stations with the setup similar to Apple stores (but no nooks yet), a ton of people inside and a lady purchasing a nook tablet for herself to read romance.
The only nook buyer I know said she uses it for free stuff. I don't think they make money on the device especially since they need to pay all the employees trying to sell the Nook. But why would anybody buy a Nook if they can only buy books from B&N? You know, you can't buy or save books from other vendors.
Besides, just because Best Buy has the product doesn't mean it will sell.
