Impact of off shore lower demand for natural gas ???
With the recent reports of lack of demand for increased Natural gas loads in the Orient what will be the long term on the policies of Gas Log?
It is realized that the current vessels and ship newbuilds are already leased for severeal years at a fixed day rate but how will the news impact the companies future plans? Several companies are ramping up their number of ships in service and with a limited demand for ship service.how long before day rates are adjusted down and new ship builds slowed down to the new reality?
Not a demand issue. It's an LNG supply issue. As new liquification capacity comes onstream beginning now through 2017,Shiploads will improve..Most of the supply from Trains under construction has been contracted.
to me it will scare people away from ordering which will be a long term benefit to the log. the less players the better. long term is great solution for fuel there will be need to transport it. gaslog lower rate compared to golar, i think will reflect a more balanced rate going forward. every ship added will lower rates unless there is huge supply increase. short term there will be some bumps i can imagine a scenario where japan turns on the nuke reactors that would destroy rates.
