Take a little split as a negative: (1) It means they don't think the stock is going up. (2) They are wasting a lot of money on all the bookkeeping. (3) They think their stockholders are dumb. A split might juice a stock temporarily because some people think they are getting something for free or others don't realize there was a split and think it's trading at a bargain price.
