Buying property in the US is probably a good one. I should get off my "derriere" and go to Miami and buy some small condo . But at this stage in my portfolio , i have doubts... i need 2 more years... how much can it go up in 2 years... 10% . That;s fine.
lol... RE is a acronym for "Real Estate"... you know... LAND ! ... or better yet, land with improvements.
Anyway, what can you do really do with silver besides hold it and pray it goes up in value ? I have silver, but I'm actually hoping it goes down in value(well, at least after I sell it lol). Like most of us US residents, I have much more invested in US dollars than in silver. It only benefits the government and the US corporations selling abroad to have a weak US dollar. If we actually manufactured much of anything anymore it would benefit us more.
I'm all for making money on a trade, but not at the expense everything else.
<corn is so subject to US subsidies that any change in policy could change S/D (and prices) in a big hurry.>
My understanding is less than 5% of corn is the U.s is used for energy , world wide even less. So cutting subsidies(which they won't , meanwhile Obama is in power) , should only affect temporarily(not long term) the price. Corn is food and it will fall only when inflation world wide stops and ALL fall. That said , i only bought a tiny position for fun... because i am also scared...gl.
