    Obama big loser in trial

Forget the over-zealous prosecutors and the repellent state attorney Angela Corey (who should be immediately disbarred) and even the unfortunate Trayvon Martin family, the true loser at the Zimmerman trial was Barack Obama.

By injecting himself in a minor Florida criminal case by implying Martin could be his son, the president of the United States — a onetime law lecturer, of all things — disgraced himself and his office, made a mockery of our legal system and exacerbated racial tensions in our country, making them worse than they have been in years. This is the work of a reactionary, someone who consciously/unconsciously wants to push our nation back to the 1950s.

It is also the work of a narcissist who thinks of himself first, of his image, not of black, white or any other kind of people. It’s no accident that race relations in our country have gone backwards during his stewardship.

Congratulations to the jury for not acceding to this tremendous pressure and delivering the only conceivable honest verdict. This case should never have been brought to trial. It was, quite literally, the first American Stalinist “show trial.” There was, virtually, no evidence to convict George Zimmerman.

We all know Al Sharpton, the race baiter of Tawana Brawley and Crown Heights, agitated publicly for this trial more than anyone else. But he most likely would not have succeeded had it not been for Obama’s tacit support. As far as I know this is unprecedented in our history (a president involving himself in a trial of this nature).

The media also followed Obama (as they always do) by enabling the demagogue Sharpton, as if he were a serious person. The media, as I wrote before, treated this case like pornography, something to be exploited, giving it all sorts of racial import it didn’t have. The New York Times, acting like true reactionaries of the Obama era, even went so far as to invent the term “white Hispanic” to fit the case.

    • Dont forget sharpie and the Duke Lacrosse Team. The potus jeopardized this case when he made the "my son" statement. If the Jury found GZ guilty, this would have gotten him off. Bible says "divide and conquer" the potus is doing it. Dont forget sharpie spends a few hours a week with the potus. Joe B has been quiet since hillary left the post, is he making a run for the oval?

Those that are getting checks from us have to have someway to show their allegiance, demonstrate, it got him elected. The Russian dictators did the same thing, called them UI's, USEFUL IDIOTS. Keep them in the dark, feed them B. S., then tell them when and how to vote. GOD BLESS US ALL.

    • Not sure what this topic has to do with the price of oil in Brazil, but PBR is moving well and will double in the course of the year.

    • So Obama's son would give the finger to the camera and pose like a thug gang-banger in front of wadds of drug money and stolen jewelry?

      That's our beloved president.

    • Spot on and if course his Minions in the press that sought to make it a racial issue from the onset. Guilty until proven guilty.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

I feel strongly that the jury got it right (surprised Ilap?) and that the case should never have been brought to trial. I also believe that Obama should have kept his mouth shut on this when asked. However, it's ludicrous to assume, as this author does, that Obama was the big loser here. As long as we make it through the next couple of days with only peaceful demonstrations, which it now looks like we will, this thing probably becomes history and becomes part of the larger discussion of what should be done about the trend towards bad laws (or not, whichever your opinion) concerning guns in this country.

    • first time for everything, information age has encouraged political leaders to share their opinions with or without your approval. Private citizen can't be a judge, jurors and executioner.. there's 911, police, and other agencies were paid to protect public. if anyone with a gun can shoot at a perceive suspect, then today's shooter could be the one who will be on the receiving end of the shooting next time... the evident is a dead body of a young man with a confession of a shooter. Police doesn't have license to kill, what make this neighborhood watch individual can kill without consequences ?
