Here's the basis for the rumor. MPLX hires their Lehman analyst as CFO, announces a secondary, more positive business news and...poof the new CFO is leaving to go back to Lehman. Now, given the fact that he (Stanek) presumably knew everything about MPLX, since he followed the co., a likely reason for the exit is ...MPLX is getting acquired and his CFO position would disappear. The most likely buyer...DCLK. They do business together, MPLX has technology that DCLK covets and the margins are higher in MPLXs end of the business.
I have no idea how this will wind up, but it is interesting.
